I welcome you warmly to the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Rivers State Council Women Commission website page. We have over time being pushing for Gender Equality, Women Empowerment and the fight against Violence and Harassment of Women in the world of work.

To aggressively approach these three-some there is need for a consensus among the constituents, stakeholders and civil society actors to get the relevant authorities in Nigeria and Rivers state to ratify  ILO Convention No.90 christened C90.

We need to collectively face these menace to attain descent work place. My dear Comrades we have among us women that are highly knowledgeable, professionals in every right,  women with courage, proven integrity and purpose. With God on our side and with one-purpose there is nothing that will be too difficult for us to achieve.

About TUC Rivers State Women Commission

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Rivers State Council inaugurated her Women's Wing also known as The Women Commission, on the 25th of March, 2011. At the Tokyu Grand Hotel, Port Harcourt under the watchful eyes of Lady Rose Orji the National Chairperson TUC Women Commission by Comrade Peter Esele the President-General of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria.

During the Inauguration ceremony, the Following Members were sworn - in  to pilot the affairs of the State Women Commission. They were as follows:
